The Client
Horwood & James are actively involved in their local community to offer accurate and up-to-date information on policies, regulations and law. They specialise in many facets of civil law, such as Residential, Commercial, Agricultural, Family and Employment law. They are also proud sponsors of their local community clubs, Aylesbury Vale Dynamos Football Club and Aylesbury Hockey Club.
The law firm needed a redesign of their website as the content, functionality and policies were outdated.
Project Brief
Horwood & James wanted a website that reflected their community values, share up-to-date information on current affairs and built trust with users to generate new leads. To successfully achieve this aim, we had to rebuild the website with a new, responsive engine.
The website required a technical review to identify missing policies, service pages and documents essential to running a modern website. We found the previous website needed an SSL certificate, cookies policy, responsive interaction designs and to be accessible across a range of devices.
Our Solution
To optimise the content and improve readability, our copywriter drafted the content. Through the copy on the home page, we reinforced the message of the company being well-established and offering ‘Traditional Values with a Modern Approach’.
To ensure the user journey on the website was not compromised by dead-end interactions on service pages, we checked all links on the navigation were responsive and took the user to the relevant pages/sections. An on-page contact form was integrated, and social media icon links were added to enhance user experience.
To bring in interest from clients handling residential property, we integrated a conveyancing calculator on the website.
Staff were trained by WordPress admin to manage the website, in-house. This allowed them to showcase the most recent information on their website, which is intended to increase user confidence in their content and consequently, in their services. More so, on the home page, excerpts of the latest blog posts appeared automatically, which improved the search engine indexing ranking of the whole website.
The Results
The website for Horwood & James brought together the company’s heritage with its current, active involvement in the local area of Aylesbury. Built on a responsive engine, the residents accessing the website from a range of devices, were able to send enquiries that successfully generated more new leads for this long-standing law firm.
