Elevate your organisation with expert web design for charities
On this page, we describe our web design service for charities. It includes relevant sections about our work, clients, what we offer, and how it is done.
Embracing digital production can be daunting; we empathise entirely. Therefore, we trust this page will bring more clarity about web design for charities.
Working for charities
We recognise charities often have multiple priorities for web design projects: connecting with supporters, recruiting volunteers, promoting events, etc., unlike business clients who often have a single objective: making a sale.
Framework’s team understands the nuances of working with nonprofit organisations, like cooperating with volunteers and presenting design ideas to board members.
We bring a wealth of experience designing websites for charities and making their resources worth the investment.
Socially responsible web design agency
Our team’s strength comes from various experiences, education and diversity.
We actively promote web accessibility, build partnerships with local schools and use 100% renewable energy to power our hosting servers.
We contribute to the local community by offering work placements to T Level students and sponsoring initiatives promoting education.
Framework Digital can be your reliable and responsible ally, delivering web design for your charity.
Building trust through experience
In recent years, charitable organisations have had to shift their focus and embrace digital change, adopting a ‘business-like’ approach.
However, it can be difficult for charity leaders to recognise which web design agency is worth the trust.
Our extensive portfolio of successful charity web design projects completed in the past ten years includes organisations such as Florence Nightingale Charity Hospice, Workaid, Bucks Gardens Trust, Modeshift STARS, and more.
Tailored services for charities
Our commitment goes beyond templated websites. We are creating websites as unique as your cause with additional modules that make your charity operation more efficient. We enhance websites with integrated donation and events management systems, referral forms, and more.
Our services adapt to your charity’s distinct needs, from user-friendly designs to complex integrations.
We understand that every charity is unique; therefore, we create custom proposals instead of pre-made packages. Our digital solutions are crafted to suit small nonprofits and national charities.
Website modules
Ensuring your charity’s website goes beyond aesthetics, we provide additional web-based modules that extend website functionality.
Donation management
We offer website-embedded, secure donation and donor management systems to ensure a seamless donation process.
From simple, cost-effective payment forms to sophisticated systems that manage fundraising campaigns and direct debit donations.
Event booking systems
Checking upcoming events on a charity’s website can be helpful for supporters. Charities promoting these events can take and manage bookings and sell tickets.
Newsletter distribution
Most charities use external platforms to distribute their newsletters. The work is often doubled, as creating a newsletter and online posting are separate tasks on different platforms.
Our newsletter module saves time and ongoing fees.
Memberships management
If your organisation’s revenue stream includes memberships, we have the perfect solution that automates the time-consuming tasks of renewals and member management.
Cookies and GDPR Compliance
Our cookies management and privacy level solution can be implemented with newly built websites.
Cookie and GDPR compliance are a must-have for websites in 2024. It is legally required to list a website’s cookies and allow visitors to accept, reject and manage the consent.
Web Accessibility
In addition to building websites that meet WCAG standards of accessibility, we can add a feature that allows visitors to change text size, background colour, and more.
We can also test the accessibility of websites, highlighting possible improvements and help with writing accessibility policy.

Framework Digital provides excellent support for small charities. Their staff have shown patience and a willingness to provide step-by-step instruction and encouragement at every stage.
Yesterday, a new member explained that he had joined based on the website content and the regular e-bulletins, which he thought were of a superior standard to neighbouring county trusts.

It was a really difficult year for our charity, overwhelmed with work due to the Covid restrictions. Framework Digital was absolutely great throughout; they were very patient and helpful. We now have a great website, which we are thrilled with and which will be very easy to update going forward.

Do you use WordPress templates?
We prefer not to use ready-made templates. We use modern web development tools that allow us to build completely custom websites.
We can offer a high-quality template for projects with limited budgets. However, in our eyes, user experience (UX), research, content planning and custom design are the most reliable steps for creating a contemporary website.
Can you help with domains, hosting transfers etc?
Yes, we are here to help. For 10 years, clients have consistently provided fantastic feedback about our domain, hosting, and website support.
We can advise if your charity has an emergency related to web hosting and domains. Call 01296 320820
Can you meet WCAG AA accessibility standards?
Enthusiastically, yes! It is our mission to create websites for charities that are accessible for as many people as possible.
We consider accessibility from the beginning of the process, right through to the end, with all of our staff vigilantly aware and trained in web accessibility.
What are your responsibility commitments?
We enthusiastically approach our social responsibility commitments. This brings joy and makes our team feel good about what we do.
You can find out more details on the Social Responsibility page.
How long it takes to complete a website?
We offer a collaborative approach to all our projects. We will work with you to create a proposal and realistic timeline, ensuring you are kept in the loop.
No two projects are the same, so the time required varies from 2 weeks to over 3 months.
Can we edit our website?
Yes, if you have asked for editable content, we will hand over the website login details to you. Web admins and editors can easily edit existing pages and add new posts and pages, for example.
Our friendly team provides training workshops to make sure your users behind and in front of the scenes have easy access.
Do you build WordPress websites?
Yes, we create custom-made WordPress (WP) websites. WordPress is one of the most popular and user-friendly platforms. We build custom WP themes, making it easy for our clients to edit pages, add news posts and events, manage subscriptions, and more.
We also offer hosting to keep our clients’ websites safe and GDPR-compliant. Our skilled web designer and user experience designer ensure the website is accessible and easy for visitors to navigate.
Where are you based and who works at Framework?
Our main office is based at Buckinghamshire New University in Aylesbury. We also have a desk and meeting room at Shoreditch Exchange in London.
