Workaid (2017)

This Chesham based charity needed a website that would appeal to individuals and funding institutions. It was 'feel good' job to work with the Workaid charity in Chesham. With the charity highlighting that a primary aim of the website was to attract more visitors and encourage volunteers to join and donate, it was clear that the old website was no longer fit for purpose. We were working on this project in cooperation with an external marketing consultant.

Client

WorkAid is a Chesham based charity. They collect unwanted tools, machinery and resources and a team of volunteers clean, service and where necessary recondition them. These valuable supplies are then delivered to community groups, primarily in Africa, where they help individuals to make a living.

The challenge

With several distinct target audiences, it was important that the new website would appeal to individuals, businesses, potential recipients in Africa and funding institutions by not only displaying informations to website visitors but also sharing documents, accept donations, publish news by multiple contributors.

Website Review

With the charity highlighting that a primary aim of the website was to attract more visitors and encourage volunteers and donations, it was clear that the existing website was no longer fit for purpose. A mobile responsive and optimised site with persuasive content, clear calls to action and social media integration was needed.

The solution

Framework Digital worked in close collaboration with a marketing specialist and charity director and employees to create the new WorkAid website. We worked to personalise the organisation, by showcasing both the enthusiastic team of UK based volunteers and the individuals that have benefitted from tool donations.

When the final version was approved, we provided training to a group of WorkAid employees and volunteers. This gave them confidence in adding and updating content using the new CRM system.

“Tomas made the training easy to understand and made sure that it made sense to each of us, giving us an excellent basis to maintain and update our new website.  He was able to answer all our questions, show us all the ins and outs that we needed to know and guide us through as we tried everything out.  We highly recommend Framework’s friendly and responsive training.”

The results

The team have added regular posts to the website, helping the content to remain fresh and appealing. The Donate Us page is promoted via mailing lists, clients can look up to find local collection points and send an enquiry.  The potential recipients of help can apply for donations and share success stories.
