Community Impact Bucks

Can you redesign a website to comply with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards? Community Impact Bucks wanted to promote its support services for local voluntary organisations.

Overview

Community Impact Bucks empowers the voluntary, community, and charity sectors through services, volunteer matching and partnership work. A website redesign was requested to improve the user experience and encourage greater involvement. The priorities for this project were promoting services and workshops, as well as complying with accessibility standards.

Challenge

One challenge was to provide different types of visitors with easy navigation to relevant content. Equally, multiple Calls to Action for website visitors required attention and we needed to streamline these processes. Another challenge for this project was involving multiple people with differing ideas on the core message and design priorities.

Solution

Through discussion and negotiation, we addressed the challenges and delivered a new, accessible website with all required functionality and simplified navigation. Since each page had a single image, we used icons to improve its visual presentation. We also trained the team to manage updates in-house. We continue to offer support to assist with administration.

I’m so pleased what the team at Framework Digital have managed to do with our website.
We have already had many positive responses to the new website.
