We offered local charitable organisations the chance to have a website.
Among our notable achievements for 2017 was a local charity project.
Framework Digital is keen to support the next generation of digital enthusiasts and our team is also committed to supporting local charities. At the start of 2017, we developed an idea which allows us to do both!
We offered local charitable organisations the chance to have a website designed, built and published at minimal costs. The work was carried out by IT students from Bucks UTC. Framework Digital supported the students when they meet the charity to discuss the brief and at every stage of the design and development process.
This approach allowed us to provide the students with a real and relevant brief, genuine deadlines and the experience of working to a customer’s requirements. It developed the skills that they were learning in the classroom and helped them to understand how their learning will apply in the real world.
For the charities involved, it was an opportunity to get a fully functioning website for the cost of a domain name (if required) and an annual hosting fee. No charges were made for the web design work, so this was ideal for small charities with limited funding.
With keen UTC students lined up, we were able to support a couple of local charities with their digital requirements. It was an interesting project, with benefits for all involved. We went on to support UTC in a number of other ways, including attendance at career days and award sponsorship. We’ve enjoyed helping develop the opportunities for their students.
Framework Digital has experience of working with established charities on larger projects or more complex websites. If you would like examples of this work, please take a look through our portfolio.
